INTRACOASTAL FLY FISHING RESOURCES

The Cape Fear coast is a flyrodders dream come true. With miles of “flats” for redfish, trout and flounder there is never enough time to fish it all in a season. What makes the water around the Intracoastal Angler so unique is the diversity of gamefish and water quality depending on your fishing location.

South of Wrightsville Beach the waters can be stained with nutrient rich waters flooding in from the Cape Fear River through Snow’s Cut and providing great opportunities for tailing, backing and shrimp busting redfish in merely inches of water. To the North from Figure Eight Island to the north of Topsail island the water is clear and the bottom sandy or littered with turtle grasses holding sight fishable trout and redfish as well as flounder.

Come and test your skills on the wild fish of the Cape Fear coastal waters surrounding the Intracoastal Angler and let the friendly knowledgeable staff give you the scoop on “trade secret” flies that are fooling fish each day. Novice or expert, destination or local we have the skills and the knowledge to help fuel your passion.
