Dustin scores Blue and Red
Dustin Rogers, Capt. Lee Parsons of Gottafly Guide Service and myself found time to get out yesterday morning for a little spin fishing with top water plugs for redfish. Capt. Lee was kind enough to document the adventure with film and he managed some impressive shots to say the least.
The morning was cool and the sunrise was a welcome sight but the fishing was slow to warm up. We started out fishing a flat I knew would produce some topwater bites and out of the four strikes we had Dustin managed a nice redfish of 5 lb. in the first hour of the morning.
We moved to fish some creek mouths in search of fewer but bigger reds and were rewarded by a ferocious stike which turned out to be a 7 lb. Bluefish. Dustin handled him well and landed him after Capt. Lee managed to get some of the jumps on film.
